New line of robotics

ORL-R Rotary Cell; ORL-D Drawer Cell

The Okuma Robot Loader (ORL) series includes three products designed to load and unload workpieces from new and pre-existing Okuma machines to increase productivity and aid operator efficiency.

The new ORL product family includes:

  • ORL-D – Okuma Robot Loader – Drawer, a drawer-style workpiece storage unit with a standard template holding up to 92 workpieces. An optional template can be purchased holding up to 180 smaller workpieces.
  • ORL-R – Okuma Robot Loader – Rotary, a disc-style workpiece storage unit with a variety of template options holding up to 166 workpieces
  • ORL-MC – Okuma Robot Loader – Machining Center, a workholding and workpiece storage unit for up to 288 workpieces. Patented MultiGrip workholding can automate multiple OP10/OP20/OP30 part numbers in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.

Each ORL product has been designed with a compact footprint, requiring between 8ft to 9ft of floor space. Additionally, each product uses FANUC industrial robot arms and grippers holding a payload up to 25 lb.

Mist collector and through-spindle coolant kit

Mist Collector; Through-spindle coolant kit

The through-spindle coolant (TSC) kit and mist collector designed for the 1500MX CNC Mill offer enhanced air quality, efficiency, and improved machine performance.

The TSC kit improves machining operations by delivering coolant directly through the 1500MX’s spindle to enhance tool life and performance during deep drilling and milling. By keeping tools clear of chips and other debris, this method helps maintain a clean bore and reduces chip buildup to significantly enhance machining precision and efficiency.

The user-installable system integrates with customers’ existing 1500MX mills and comes with all the necessary components to easily add this capability to their machines. Powered by a 3hp, 220V single-phase motor, the TSC kit delivers a maximum outlet pressure of 435psi (30bar) and a flow rate of 7.9gpm (20L/min) for optimal coolant distribution. And while every 1500MX comes with TSC standard, a flood coolant kit is required to operate the TSC Kit.

The mist collector is engineered to maintain a cleaner workspace by capturing and filtering out vaporized coolant and airborne particles before they become a problem. It features a centrifugal fan providing attraction and centrifugal force to effectively collect mist and vaporized liquids. The system’s two-stage filtration design maximizes its ability to filter oil and mist particles, while a stainless-steel bottom strainer recycles oil and lubricant back into the system to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

With specifications that include a 1/2hp motor, 420cfm airflow, and compact dimensions (395mm x 400mm x 650mm), the mist collector requires 220V at 2.5A with a recommended 10A breaker.
