Appointments

Leonid Capital Partners welcomed James “Hondo” Geurts and Brian Hibbeln to their board of advisors. Geurts brings more than 34 years of extensive leadership and acquisition experience in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and the U.S. Air Force.

Geurts most recently performed the duties of undersecretary of the Navy. He previously served as the Department of the Navy’s COO and CMO. Before that he served as assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development, and acquisition where he oversaw an annual budget of $148 billion for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines Corps, and allies and partners.

Hibbeln is a venture partner at SineWave Ventures, a firm dedicated to accelerating new technologies. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he spent more than 20 years as a senior civilian in the U.S. Government, as the assistant deputy undersecretary of defense for special capabilities in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Hibbeln recently served as the director of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Remote Sensing Center-National Capital Region, where he managed more than $8 billion in U.S. government contracts.

American Outdoor Brands Inc. named Brent Vulgamott, vice president of sales, operations, & analytics, to the newly created role of COO, under which he will continue to lead all facets of the company’s sales, operations, and analytics functions.

Previously, Vulgamott served in a variety of roles for the Outdoor Products & Accessories Division of Smith & Wesson Brands, most recently as vice president of operations.

Indira Rice Donegan joined Red River, a technology transformation company serving government and enterprise customers, as its government technology evangelist. Donegan will provide insight and leadership to support Red River’s U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and federal customers in building a critical understanding of disruptive technologies and services that can ensure mission success.

Donegan is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with more than 20 years of military service. She has held positions throughout her military career focusing on defense information technology (IT) and cyber initiatives as well as strategic use of communications technologies. She served as the chief of integration and cyber requirements working with the joint staff overseeing a $46 billion cyber portfolio and was the joint staff J8 representative to the chairman’s integrated operations division (IOD), which developed and advised the chairman of the Joint Chiefs on dynamic force employment (DFE) for crisis management planning.

Before joining Red River, Donegan was the senior strategy officer for DOD and the intelligence community at NetApp, a battalion commander of the Nation’s Signal Battalion, and held various positions across DISA, the Joint Staff, and Army.

Contracts

Amentum was awarded a five-year contract with a maximum value of $326.9 million by the U.S. Army to continue work on command, control, communication, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems. Amentum will engineer, integrate, and test advanced prototype technologies and systems.

 

Amentum will provide technology and engineering solutions for prototyping projects executed by the Prototyping, Integration, and Testing Division (PI&TD). These engineering modernization and integration projects directly support emerging technical needs of the warfighter. PI&TD provides support to several military program management offices including DEVCOM, Warfighter Information Network Tactical (WIN-T), Mission Command, Radars, DCGS-A, Special Operations Command, and Marine Corps (USMC).

Amentum will design, develop, and fabricate C5ISR systems, sub-systems, components, installation kits, and systems-of-systems for integration into ground-based, vehicular, shelter, airborne, watercraft, soldier, and dismounted platforms, tactical and non-tactical, and into fixed and relocatable sites.
