Ballistic protection market

The ballistic protection market is projected to grow from $13.4 billion in 2022 to $16.9 billion by 2027, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.7%. Rising political unrest in emerging economies is a major factor driving demand in the ballistic protection market.

The ballistic protection market is segmented into II and IIA, III and IIIA, and IV. A level IV hard plate is designed to defeat armor-piercing projectiles and is projected to lead the market. Mostly used by tactical police teams and the military, level IV ballistic armor offers protection against large, high-velocity bullets and can stop rounds fired by rifles and submachine guns. The homeland security segment is projected to grow at a higher rate than the military segment. Ballistic protection systems markets are also growing in the Asia Pacific region because of rising defense spending in Australia, India, China, Japan, and South Korea.
