Trio of CNC machines
The Microturn-LTBS ultra-precision turn-mill-center is a precision turning center and a full 5-axis machining center. The two identical 29.5hp opposing spindles move in the X- and Z-axis for repeatability and sub-micron precision.
Between the two spindles are up to three toolholding devices, including:
- Gang-type fixed table to mount fixed precision turning tools
- An accurate, robust 12-station turret with milling and Y-axis capabilities
- A 12,000rpm B-axis milling spindle also with Y-axis for full 5- axis milling applications; available with up to 72 tools using the overhead tool changer
All linear and rotating axes are equipped with linear scales. The machine fits within a 10ft x 10ft x 10ft footprint.
The TTS-Triplex is a multitasking high-performance turning center for simultaneous machining with three independent turrets.
Spindles: Main/sub-spindle bar capacity: 42mm (1.65"), 65mm (2.55"), 85mm (3.34"), and 125mm (4.92"); C-axis in both spindles; cylindrical transformation for complex milling jobs
Turrets: 12 live tool stations per turret, BMT45 or VDI25; turrets can operate independently on main and sub-spindle
Control: Fanuc or Siemens
Design:
- Compact design with 90° vertical machine bed for accessibility, chip management
- Panorama windows
- Small distance from operator to turrets and spindles
- Adjustable control panel: 24"-screen Siemens-SPIOS, 15"-screen Fanuc
- 24" chip conveyor
- Usually for medium and high volume turning of complex workpieces.
The U5-630 Compact series is a 5-axis vertical machining center featuring:
- Integrated swing/tilt-table in machine body
- Universal, precise 5-face and 5-axis machining applications
- Moving column for heavy workpieces
- Spindle speed up to 15,000rpm
- Modern high-level controls, drives
- Available with standard pallet changing systems

Ultra-high-performance material for 3D printing
Vega is an ultra-high-performance filament designed for use on the FX20 printer. Vega offers exceptional strength and is expected to bring weight reduction, cost efficiency, and lead-time savings.
Vega builds upon Markforged’s material expertise and track record of engineering chopped carbon fiber-filled polymers for strength, precision, and surface quality. Markforged developed Vega to be compatible with the FX20’s Continuous Fiber Reinforcement technology to deliver aluminum-strength parts.
Vega’s surface quality exceeds most high-temperature plastics used in additive manufacturing. With a smooth black matte surface finish, the new material resists warping, a constant problem for high-temperature plastics, and exhibits flame, smoke, and toxicity (FST) resistance for high-value applications.
Vega’s inherent print quality means fewer defects and minimal warpage for less post-processing to achieve production surface quality, allowing for higher part acceptance rates during inspection.
Combined with continuous fiber reinforcement technology, Vega provides increased design flexibility without sacrificing strength, opening new applications.

Standard sized speed drills
The Speed Drill S2 and S4 series are solid carbide drills in standard sizes from 3mm to 20mm. All models feature 2-flute geometry with 30° helix angle for superior chip evacuation and 140° point geometry for precision hole-making in carbon steel, cast iron, gray cast iron, alloys, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The S2 is well suited for general purpose applications, in sizes from 3xD or 5xD with coolant-through or non-coolant fed designs. With four guide lands, the S4 holds sizing better for increased performance and higher quality holemaking. S4 models are available in 5xD and 8xD sizes with coolant-through only.
The S2 and S4 series are manufactured from premium carbide feedstock with the latest generation of CNC grinding machines. A straight main cutting edge and special slot form produce cost/performance ratios yielding low cost per piece.
Ideal for high-volume production runs to one-off machine shop projects, the S2 and S4 Speed Drills are well suited for applications where precision and repeatability are required.
MK Tools standard drills feature proprietary GTX coating, a multilayer aluminum chromium nitride coating that reduces reaming resistance for longer tool life and better chip evacuation. This and other advanced coating options for optimum performance, new tools, and regrinds are performed in-house to reduce lead times.
All manufacturing data is recorded for quality assurance. In addition to the S2 and S4 models described, MK Tools manufactures a full lineup of standard sized solid carbide tooling for varied materials.
