Rotary transfer machine

The TECHNOMAT 32-16 rotary transfer machine is capable of vertical and horizontal machining – complete with 16 ball screw stations including one cut-off station and one inverting station. The machine is modular and customizable for specific operations, making it a solution to shorten cycle times and maximize production efficiency. The TECHNOMAT 32-16 uses FANUC controls. For loading blanks and unloading finished parts, this machine is complete with a robot load and unload cell. It has a capacity of 50mm and features collets, rotating collets, or 2-jaw chucks to securely hold unique part geometries.
A compact layout with raised platform enables easy access to all the units and the electrical panel. The machine can be equipped with a magazine bar feeder and cut off unit or a robot load and unload cell. The robot load/unload cell is accessible from the ground floor complete with a security door. To access the inside of the machine, simply activate the automatic doors located on top of the machine base. For added security, the automatic doors use motion detection sensors to lock the system from closing the doors while the inside of the machine is being accessed.
The TECHNOMAT 32-16 can machine brass, aluminum, carbon, stainless steel, and other materials. The units contain oversized spindle bearings and longer stroke capacity than typical rotary transfer machines, allowing for increased accuracy and rigidity on light and heavy-duty machining applications.

Machine for forming rifling grooves

The DeHoff G560-B1 is a custom machine designed to form rifling grooves in gun barrels. The barrel is rotated by a 3-jaw chuck while a rifling button tool is pulled through the barrel by a hydraulic cylinder. The button tool deforms the rifling grooves into the internal bore of the barrel using a swaging process. All rifling grooves are cold formed in a single pass.
The G560-B1 can machine barrels from .17 caliber up to .50 caliber and has a slide travel of 60" (1,524mm). It features a pneumatically operated chuck with programmable twist rates, which is the distance the rifling takes to complete one full revolution. This is variable from one turn in 5" (127mm) to one turn in 60" (1,524mm). The twist rate, pull speed, and pull force are all programmable via the Beckhoff control.
The G560-B1 is part of a turnkey package of gun barrel manufacturing equipment offered by DeHoff, including machines for gundrilling, pull-reaming, button rifling, cut rifling, as well as tooling, stress relief ovens, and air gaging equipment.
