TriTech Titanium Parts, LLC, manufacturer of net shape titanium parts using a unique array of in-house processes – 3D binder jet printing, investment casting and metal injection molding – is pleased to be awarded the Grand Prize for Design Excellence in the Military/Firearms category for MIM (metal injection molding) components, in the 2024 Powder Metallurgy Design Excellence Awards at PowderMet 2024. TriTech’s award-winning part is for a titanium universal trunnion in a rifle platform. The annual awards competition is sponsored by the Metal Powder Industries Federation.
TriTech’s award-winning MIM part is produced for Primary Weapons Systems in Boise, Idaho, and is an innovative rifle platform that offers quick barrel changing and enables one weapon to fire multiple calibers with minimal parts changeover.
“Receiving the Grand Prize for Design Excellence is a milestone achievement, and we’re especially proud to have received this prestigious award for two consecutive years,” says Bob Swenson, president of TriTech Titanium Parts. “Producing titanium parts with MIM is a highly specialized process. And, at TriTech, we’re honored to be recognized for our expertise in this area, as well as the production of an innovative part that enables product flexibility for military and firearms use.”
